Dr. Daniel Keating, Fellow of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, is Associate Professor of Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan.

He earned an MA in New Testament from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in 1994, an M.St. From Oxford University in the Development of Christian Doctrine in the Patristic Period in 1998, and a D.Phil in Theology from Oxford in 2000. His doctoral dissertation on Cyril of Alexandria’s theology of sanctification and divinization is published by Oxford University Press, The Appropriation of Divine Life in Cyril of Alexandria, 2004.

Dr. Keating is co-editor and contributor to The Theology of St. Cyril of Alexandria: A Critical Appreciation (2003); Aquinas on Doctrine: A Critical Introduction (2004), and Aquinas on Scripture: An Introduction to His Biblical Commentaries (2005). He is the editor of St. Thomas Aquinas, Commentary on Colossians (2006), and his most recent work is Deification and Grace (2007).

He has also published scholarly articles and book reviews in Pro Ecclesia, Theological Studies, Journal of Early Christian Studies, Nova et Vetera, Henoch, and Studia Patristica.

Dr. Keating has been involved in student ministry for over twenty-five years, and lectures to students in the United States and Europe. He lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he is a member of the Servants of the Word, a lay brotherhood dedicated to the work of evangelization and Christian unity.
